Metrostars sign Azmil

At a press conference yesterday, the Metrostars announced the signing of long term target Azmil for an undisclosed fee. The fiery playmaker posed for pictures and did some ball juggling for the cameras before he took to the pitch. Azmil already has 3 goals and 4 assists from 5 previous on loan appearances this season. He added another goal to his tally to cap an impressive debut.

Boy Zamail completed an emotional return to Mumong last week as his season-long loan officially turned into a permanent deal. Boy Z made his official debut against Rio and impressed in central midfield. He will wear the vacant number 28 jersey and is the Metrostars' sole summer signing.

Harry Redknapp has threathened to quit if any of his star players are sold. "If you start thinking about selling your best players you might as well give up. What's the point in carrying on?"

Redknapp may then be interested in the Metrostars job since there is little chance that anyone will want any of the players.

With Tottenham, Leicester and Newcastle recently admitting they would be going for ex-England captain David Beckham in January, the Metrostars have now officially joined the race to sign the 35 year old on a two-month loan deal. Speculation is so strong that the MetroStore has reportedly run out of replica shirts.

Former world player of the year Ronaldinho is out of contract at the end of the year and a series of clubs have been suggested as possible destinations for the mercurial Brazilian during the upcoming January transfer window. The player's agent has stated that despite warming the bench, Ronaldinho is unlikely to swap Milan for Mumong in the near future.

Alai U-turn sparks player power debate

"To suggest Alai will be sold in January is nonsense'' - a Metrostars spokesman said on Sunday, 7th November.

Alai's agent informs the club he will not be signing a new contract on Monday, 8th November.

"I believe he is going to stay. But if .... he is to leave, then give me a call'' - Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho on Tuesday, 9th November.

"(The owner) did not give me any of the assurances I was seeking about the future squad'' - Alai, in a statement issued on Tuesday, 9th November.

Lee Yuan Soon has moved to end months of speculation that the left sided midfielder would be leaving the club this summer. The rumour mill was buzzing at the end of last season with news that Soon was having his head turned by FC Shaolin but the player's latest statement comes after the Mumong Academy graduate puts pen to paper on a long term deal.

Speculation has been rife all summer that Soon will "return home" to FC Shaolin, especially since the player himself recently admitted that he is flattered by the interest shown in him. Some Shaolin players took the opportunity to ambush the Metrostar after the recent friendly and force an FC Shaolin jersey on him. The Metrostars have expressed their displeasure at the 'tapping up' of the Metrostar academy graduate and are sure to be furious at these latest images.
