The Metrostars have fined Deddy two weeks wages for excessively celebrating his goal against them last week.

The versatile player ran the length of the pitch to high five a reluctant Soon after scoring while on loan to d'mayan, drawing boos from the crowd everytime he touched the ball.

Deddy is expected to return to the Mettostars squad on Friday.

Manager scores from his bench

Posted by Green Wanderer Sunday, October 25, 2009 0 comments

Some people would be unbelieving that a manager could score from his technical area with a first-time half-volley, until they know who actually did it: none other than 90's legend Dragan Stojkovic.

FIFA blamed for poor form

Posted by Hadi Thursday, October 22, 2009 0 comments

The Metrostars have endured a poor start to the season, with no wins from their opening 6 games.

They also seem to be in the midst of a goal drought, scoring only 6 goals, while last seasons' top scorers Mamat Z and Hadi have yet to hit the target.

Fans have speculated that the players' morale has been affected by FIFA's ban on Brunei which prevents the sultanate from playing any international football.

"Heads have dropped because now they know they have no hope of being selected for South Africa 2010" texted one fan.

Today we take a tour of the Metrostars' dressing room and we catch an interesting glimpse at the tactics board.

Secret strategy for the next game perhaps? It works. Just ask Pepe Reina.

Who would win? Dream Teams part 2

Posted by Hadi Wednesday, October 14, 2009 2 comments

Soon's team boasts legendary red-nosed Danish keeper Schmeichel in goal with rock solid Jaap Stam holding the defensive line. Arsenal legends Henry and Bergkamp played together at thier peak and add Eric 'King' Cantona and this squad would certaintly bid Au' Revoir to most teams.

Razley picks former Asian GK of the year Khairul Azman with Malaysia cup winner Liew Chuan Fue captaining the side. Patron Akakpo and Azman Adnan would keep the goals flowing and Thai superstar Kiatisuk Sinamuang completes the team. No space for 'Sanan??

Head to head

Yasir's opted for the safest hands in La Liga with Casilias in goal and 'The Pitbull' Genaro Gattuso of AC Milan in front of him for protection. Zinedine Zidane pulls the strings in midfield with the ever-green Ryan Giggs and the mercurial Kaka providing the fancy footwork.

Hadi has Paraguay's goal scoring dead ball specialist Jose Luis Chilavert in goal with Essien chasing down every loose ball. Zidane (again!) and Ronaldinho provide the flair and creativity with a young Robbie Fowler banging in the goals up front.

If these two teams faced off at Mumong, which team would win??
