The club have confirmed that star defender Syarul is looking at an extended spell on the sidelines due to a serious ankle injury. Last year's Player of the Season has not featured since October 2010 and has been sorely missed by the Metrostars rearguard. It has been reported that the player had attempted to return in a reserve game in January but aggravated the injury instead. No date has been set for his return.
