Match Report

A total of 7 games were played by the Metrostars. A good result as they managed to bag a total of 4 wins, 1 draw and only lost 2 games out of the 7. Games of 14mins were contested and rotated between the Metrostars, Perdana and Stone Villa

1 - 1 vs. Perdana
Metros started off brightly against the tough Perdana. Wafi drew the first blood following quick feet from Mohd Z to steal off the ball from opposition. As they were holding to a 1-0 win, Perdana took advantage to equalise following a scramble in front of Khalids goal line in the very last second.

2 - 0 vs. Stone Villa

An even contest in the first half with Mohd Z and Yasir hitting the crossbar with Gigz and Mamat M doing excellent defensive duties. As Mohd Z shot was rebounded by the goalie, Mamat M half volleyed to give Metrostars the lead and Mohd Z killed off the game to make the score 2-0.

0 - 4 vs. Perdana

Playing the game without their 2 defensive players, Gigz and Mmat M the result paid off as the attacking football played by Perdana scored 4 goals against the helpless Metros.

3 - 0 vs. Stone Villa

Hoping to rebound from the previous defeat, a quick kick in from Mohd Z found Mamat M who blasted it past the goalie. He then turn supplier for Yasir who was found one-on-one with the goalie and slotted home. A brilliant flick from Alai found himself and Wafi in the middle of D area with both claiming to score. After a post match discussion, goal was given to Wafi with Alai the assist. 3-0 against Stone Villa.

2 -1 vs. Perdana
With Sepol making his first appearance of the evening, he surely made an instant impact. Scoring the first of the game, Perdana then equalise. With a counter attack from the Metros, Muhaimin found Sepol who turned against the last defender and scored the winner (see POTD video). They managed to hold off to win for the first time against Perdana for the night.

1 - 5 vs. Stone Villa

Both teams attack fiercely in the first half with Yasir missing numerous chances following great balls from Mohd Z and Alai. Stone Villa took the lead and Yasir managed to equalise before the half ends. Stone Villa counter attacks caught the Metrostars off guard by scoring 4 goals in the second half. Heroics saves from Khalid and trying to revive the game by bringing in Sepol didn't manage to improve the scores.

3 - 2 vs. Perdana

With a 1-1-1 head after 3 games, this surely be the most interesting game as both teams would try to win the final game of the night. Perdana took a 2-0 lead. With tired legs but endless determination from the Metros, Mohd Z stole the ball from the last defender and managed to pull one goal back. Wafi then turn supplier for Sepol to score the equaliser. Sepol then scored the winner again with Wafi providing the killer cross. Officials from Mumong then called off the game at 10pm. 3-2 to the Metros with a superb comeback! GGM!

Man of the Match: Mamat M
It was a tough contest with Wafi involve in half of the team goals scored, Sepol destructing Perdana almost single-handedly but the MOM award goes to Mamat M for his heroic duty defensively and helping the team to attack when needed. Not to forget the 2 goals and 1 assist he contributed for the team.

Metrostars to welcome back Syarul

Posted by Hadi Sunday, April 24, 2011 0 comments

The Metrostars have been handed a huge boost ahead of their game with Stone Villa FC with news that last year's Player of the Season, Syarul, is likely to return to the first team.

It was feared the defender might be out injured for the remainder of the year but Syarul has made a remarkable recovery to put himself back in contention for a starting place.

Despite having not played for the Metrostars since October 2010, Syarul spoke confidently of his return at today's press conference. "I'm ready to rock Mumong complex!" he said.
